Custom AI, web and mobile builds for insurance agencies, brokers and claims teams
BuildspaceLabs builds custom software for insurance agencies, brokers, MGAs and claims teams: pipelines that read ACORD applications, dec pages and loss runs into structured fields, claims intake and triage that starts the file correctly, and portals and native apps for insureds, producers and adjusters. Almost every high-value insurance workflow is document extraction, classification, routing and portal UX — which is exactly what we build. We have not yet shipped a named insurance engagement; the machinery is the same machinery we have shipped elsewhere, and we would rather say that than dress a demo up as a client win.
We start from the failure, not the technology
These are the insurance & claims problems the builds on this page were commissioned to fix. If none of them describes your week, we are probably not the right team.
- The same policy data is keyed three times — into the quote, into the management system, and into the carrier portal
- Loss runs and dec pages arrive as scans, faxes and photographs, so nothing downstream can read them without a person retyping them
- First notice of loss arrives by phone and email, and the service clock starts before anyone has a structured file to work
- Certificates expire quietly, and the gap is discovered when a vendor is already on site or a contract audit lands
- The management system holds the book but not the work, so servicing lives in inboxes, shared drives and spreadsheets
- Renewals get worked in the order they surface rather than the order they are at risk of leaving
Everything on this list is already built
6 capabilities, each one taken from a insurance & claims system we have delivered — not a menu of what we could attempt.
- Document extraction for ACORD applications, dec pages, loss runs, endorsements and carrier supplemental forms, with a confidence threshold and a human review queue behind it
- Claims intake — web and native FNOL capture with photos, video and location — plus rules-and-model triage that routes a file to the right queue with the clock already running
- Integration with the agency or policy system you already run (AMS360, Applied Epic, EZLynx, HawkSoft, NowCerts, QQCatalyst), including the common case where the API does not expose what you need
- Certificate of insurance issuance, tracking and expiry chasing, with vendor, subcontractor and additional-insured verification
- Quoting and submission workflows: risk intake, appetite matching, submission packaging and the handoff into carrier portals
- Portals and native apps for insureds, producers and adjusters — upload, e-sign, status, notifications, and field capture that survives no signal
What insurance & claims teams ask us first
Short answers, each one tied to a system we have shipped. The first is open; the rest are one click.
Have you built insurance software before?
Not a named insurance engagement — we will not claim one. What we have shipped is the same machinery in adjacent industries: lease term and obligation extraction for a multi-brand property operator, invoice reading and PO matching in accounts payable, contract term extraction and clause-level risk scoring for legal teams, and an AI front desk handling intake, scheduling and insurance verification for clinics. An insurance build starts from that engineering, not from a blank repository, and you should weigh it as adjacent evidence rather than as a case study in your line.
Can you extract data from ACORD forms, dec pages and loss runs?
Yes — that is a document engineering problem, and it is the part of insurance we are strongest on. The pipeline classifies the document type first, then maps to fields, because an ACORD application, a carrier supplemental and a loss run fail in completely different ways. Expect a confidence threshold and a review queue rather than blanket straight-through processing: scanned faxes, multi-page schedules and carrier-specific supplements are where naive extraction quietly produces wrong values instead of no value.
Will it integrate with our agency management system?
It depends on what your specific system and plan actually expose, and we check before we promise. Some management systems publish usable APIs, some gate them behind partner programmes we are not part of, and some give you scheduled file exports or nothing at all. Where there is no API we work with what exists — carrier download feeds, file drops, exports and, as a last resort, a supervised interface layer — and we tell you which of those you are buying up front, because the answer changes the shape and cost of the project.
Can you handle health claims, PHI or other regulated data?
We can build to data-handling requirements you specify, and we hold no certifications — no SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no HIPAA attestation. What we can do is engineer the controls you ask for: data residency, retention schedules, field-level access control, encryption, and audit trails that record what the system decided and who reviewed it. If your programme requires a certified vendor or a signed BAA from the builder, we are not that vendor, and we would rather say so before you spend time on us.
Are you a licensed broker, MGA or carrier?
No. We are a software studio and we stay on the build side. We do not quote, bind, underwrite or hold any underwriting authority, and nothing we build makes a regulated decision on its own. Models we build score, rank, extract and route so that a licensed person decides faster and with a record of why — which is also the only version regulators and your E&O carrier are comfortable with.
How would a first insurance project start?
With one workflow and your real documents. We take a sample of the actual forms — your loss runs, your carrier supplements, your COIs, not clean specimen PDFs — and build a scoped prototype against them, so accuracy is measured on your worst inputs before anyone commits to a full build. Scope is agreed in writing before work starts, and we are a small team working India business hours, Monday to Friday, which we say plainly because it affects how a claims operation on a different clock plans around us.
